Water conservation is not such a popular concept today but I believe that this will become a very important trend for the next generation of humans. I want to be part of the vanguard. I already installed water efficient toilets, shower heads, and faucets in my house. I have instigated the “be mellow if its yellow” philosophy of irregular flushing habits and turning off the shower when the soap is applied to the body shower water conservation. My next project was to install roof water reclamation with a rain-barrel-75-gallon system installed at the gutter points of my house. This is a cool way to reuse the unbelievably large amount of water that is naturally collected each time it rains. I filter this water and use it to hydrate my vegetable garden and flowers.
I also installed some coolio pineapple-rain-chains at the front porch outside corners and along the covered patio corners at the backyard. I like the sounds they create during the rain storms and I really dig the way they can redirect the water into my landscape foundation plantings. With a little planning you can do a lot with the water that Mother Nature brings to your door
